This is a unique, private and personalized  trip!

Our packages are all inclusive, you and your travelling

company will have the Camp for yourself, stay in your own yurt,

paddle in magnificent scenery, enjoy local food and get

close to an Arctic wildlife and coastal life.

Experience a spectacular Arctic Archipelago from our campsite on the island of Rebbenesøya, north of Tromsø, by a cultural landscaping area with several nature reserves. The camp has two yurts, it is without road access and electricity, and we fetch water from a small stream nearby. This is the place to experience - calmness, silence, a lot of weather and the charms of each seasons with its different color schemes and peculiarities.

We will paddle in crystal clear water along beautiful islands, around islets and sheaves. It’s quite common to see white-tailed eagles, otters, seals and summertime we usually have a large diversity of seabirds at the camp. Porpoises, dolphins also pass our camp from time to time, or if you are lucky you might spot them on the kayaking trip.

As well as the wonderful biological diversity, the area has a rich cultural heritage dating to medieval times and, in some cases, even as far back as the Stone Age.

Day 1

We will pick you up in Tromsø city or another place by agreement. We then drive in the direction of the camp. The journey to the camp is an adventure itself. We will drive alongside fjords with fantastic views. When we drive over the mountain pass we will pass Norway’s largest island lake. The drive finishes at the Mikkelvika ferry landing, where we take a 10-minute ferry crossing over to Bromnes on the island of Rebbenesøya. When you set foot on the island, it’s a 15-minute walk on a nice path along the seashore to the camp.

After settling into your yurt, we start to warm it up, and we get to fetch water from the nearby stream. We thereafter prepare a light meal. We plan the days according to the weather forecast, your experience and your wishes.

Following is an alternative but both the order and the suggested activities is flexible.

One possibility is to make an evening trip including a break were we make food around a campfire. Another possibility is to plan a shorter trip and make food when we are back at the camp, either inside the yurt or around a campfire. During the evenings kayak trip you will be able to enjoy the arctic evening light and from mid-May to mid-July the golden rays of the midnight sun throughout the night.

In the evening or night time you will be able to enjoy a cosy and relaxing time in the yurt in comfortable chairs in front of the woodfired oven or around a campfire. If you still have some energy left you can also go for a small hike to the hills behind the camp were you will have a beautiful panoramic view.

Look forward to a nice sleep in the yurt in our super comfortable beds.

Day 2

Next day after a nice breakfast we get ready for a full day kayaking trip. We will be out the whole day and return in the afternoon.  The area surrounding our camp offers enormous variety for sea kayaking with wonderful trips of varying lengths and levels. During the trip, we have short breaks were we eat some snacks and get som hot to drink. The crystal-clear water makes it possible to study the marine life underneath your kayak.

During the lunch we brew coffee and make food around a camp fire. Maybe we manage to catch our own fish or pick mussels for lunch, and what taste better than that? During our brakes it will also be possible to make small hiking trips and explore the surroundings.

After an exciting kayaking trip with many impressions and perhaps some tired and sore muscles we enjoy the atmosphere at the camp. We make dinner/eveningfood together and have a relaxing and social time around a campfire.

Day 3

After breakfast we plan to do a sightseeing trip on the Island, including breaks underway were you can take photoes. We drive southwest on the island to Engvika, which is perhaps home to the world’s most beautifully located shop. We can visit the shop and if conditions allow us we can hike the hills just nearby were you will have a spectacular view of the open sea. From this view you will be able to see the Island Sørfugløya, towering on the horizon. The Island is well know for the puffin colony. Another beautiful place south on the Island is Måsvik which also offer a beutiful view, with white beaches, clear shallow and green water and lots of small Islands.

We can also choose some of the marked routes on the Island, which offer amazing views.

When we return to the camp we prepare warm lunch.  We enjoy the atmosphere at the camp before heading back to Tromsø.

Our camp is ideal for families, couples or small groups searching for a totally different experience. You can look forward to something exceptional!

Practical information

Please bring warm clothes: woollen or other thermal underwear, fleece and a water and wind proof jacket and trousers, warm hat, and gloves. We recommend dressing in layers to keep warm. Also bring waterproof boots/hiking boots.. You can borrow thermal overalls at the camp.

As the sunlight can be very bright at sea, we recommend bringing sunglasses and a cap.

The guests and the guide prepare the warm meals together. The meals can be prepared in the fully equipped kitchen in the yurts, at the boathouse or outside around a campfire.

While no previous paddling experience is necessary, you must be in medium physical condition. To get to the camp site we have a 15-minute walk on a uneven path along the seashore.
